good things

So, over the last two weeks I've systematized a Danish event, enjoyed a fun filled birthday, and ran two Afrobeta shows. All things considered not a bad months' end.

Martin and its Euro affiliates put on an impromptu event at some plush mansion on the bay. I of course was the lucky one chosen to make it all look good.

Mission accomplished. Some of my best work is lighting trees and fountains.

Celebrated my birthday this month, probably the best one yet. D treated me to dinner and a night on the town with some close friends. She also treated me with the ultimate gift, here's whats become of that:

Afrobeta played Ultra last weekend, two shows back to back. Sat. was a warm up to Sunday's closing festival set. I actually switched things up a bit and ran my show from three separate consoles, why?

because that's just how I fucking roll.

So close yet...

Probably the best way to describe Austin, or at least our time spent there.

It was our second trip to the live music capitol of the world and without question just as fun as the first. A close friend of Ds' just recently moved there so we were eager to pay her another visit. Plenty of good times were had, those of which included:

An evening with "the Walkmen"

A kite festival

Hiking

A bit of antique browsing

Multiple nights of heavy drinking

And of course, a visit to the very first Whole Foods Market which might I add has a plethora of Belgium beers to choose from.

As always, I took the streets for some photographic amusement.

I opted to purchase a pair of cowboy boots during my visit, as you do in TX. But the urge simply wasn't enough. I settled for a warn out belt buckle instead.

At one point during our trip I pondered the thought of relocating to the nation's 15th most populous city...

Maybe not

Thanks for the good fun Stefo! You truly know how to throw it down

better late...

So happy holidays, new year all that good stuff. I've been preoccupied with work, family and all that lies in between lately. Not really sure which ways up or down, right or wrong, hot or cold but I'm still managing to get shit done.

Had some time off for the holidays which was fruitful. My Nye was spent working, as usual. Been doing a lot with the boys from MAYDAY, they're a good group of guys, and a lot fun to work with.

And just like that, it was back to the daily grind.

First trip of the year went without a hitch. I love the whole travel gig but lately its been NY this and NY that, I need a bit of spin in my life, something to switch things up a bit wouldn't you say? Had to do a quick training session, gave some presentations all of which have paid off this week.

I could do without the snow and the frigid temperatures. Apparently, "25 degrees is not that cold" Sure, you keep telling yourself that!

Winter in NYC can be quite picturesque. Everything covered in snow, steam rising from the manholes. I enjoy looking and experiencing it for about an hour but then I'd like the whole mess to be cleaned right up.

One week is all I can really except from this arctic climate then its time to go. Same goes for thousands of other travelers.
