Miss me yet?

Something tells me you do so I'm back!

Where do I begin? For starters, I know I said I was switching platforms and in doing so, I got to thinking. You and I have built up such lovely dialog over the past few years here, if I were to discontinue that now, I would be doing a great dis-service to us both. That being said, the documentation of my travels, breakthroughs, and life ambitions will remain here. I do however plan on moving forward with a new site although it will solely be for my professional side of things.

As for everything else, tangled to say the least.

Work has been alright i guess. Just got back from NY, did some stuff with the KOL crew at the garden. I've gotten to know these guys over the past few years and they're all really cool people. I can't say my liver would agree with that though.

The rest of the trip went well, I took Maxxyz out, saw some programmers, saw some dealers, same old same old. I finished up early on my last day with just enough time to snap some photos. Its been a while since I've taken any photographs so I was quite anxious to hit up the park. I don't know how it is for you but, Fall in nyc is like stepping into a Woody Allen film of some sort.

Certainly beats winter, though they can keep that shit. I caught a buzz and continued to roam the town for the rest of the evening.

Fine visit indeed.

Moving right along

Now that I've been off the ABW tour for a bit, you and I can finally catch up and chat for a while. (lucky you) The tour ended last week but I hopped off 2 weeks prior as my work was finished and I was needed elsewhere. I had a great time on it and word on the street is it was a big success. I left out of VA and was pretty stoked to be heading home. I've flown in and out of this airport before but for some reason never took in the architecture of this place. Not sure how one could overlook such a graceful building style.

So being home for awhile has been good. I've settled in nicely only to be dragged right back out again. AOL in NYC is using our control platform and called for an impromptu training session. Guess who gets the pleasure of doing that. It wasn't so bad though, they flew me out and put me up in some swanky hotel in the east village. Remember a while back I was telling you that every time I stay in the city I always get stuck with a room that has a concrete wall view, not the case this time. Apparently every room in this establishment has no such thing.

Certainly made waking up a lot easier. The training went alright, some minor hardware issues but nothing life threatening. Pretty cool place to conduct a training I'd say.

I finished up and had the rest of Fri evening to hell raise before heading home

I don't think I've mentioned it yet but somehow Martin decided to promote me to a new position. A position, might I add that was solely created for me. Something they call Product Support Coordinator, not really sure what it means but I guess I coordinate shit now. I'm pretty jazzed about it, its an opportunity to be in front of the right people as well as walk through some doors that have never been opened for me before, figuratively speaking of course. It also calls for more...

A lot more!

A perfect example as to what I'll be doing a lot of. Just the other week, the band Crowed House was in town. Their designer is using one of our latest moving heads, their actually field testing them for us. I had to go down to the venue and upload some fixture software as well as make sure the fixtures were performing to satisfaction. The guys invited me to stay, make sure all goes well and to check out the show. Figured I'd see what the Australians had to offer.

Other than that, all is going pretty well. D and I hit up Interpol at the Fillmore last night, good stuff! Ran into my good friend Ivan which is always a pleasure, can always count on him being present at a good indie rock show

Not the same without you Carlos D!

Looks like I'll be home for a bit, hopefully, that should give me some time to work on a few personal projects.

Until next time!

Bittersweet

I miss my wife, i miss my dogs, i simply miss the being of home. Its week three of four on the east coast leg of "A Brighter World" tour and I'm home for a day. I've been looking forward to this day for a bit, now that its here it feels too good to be true. I've always had a desire to tour, not so much in the way that I'm currently doing so but still a very interesting introduction to that particular lifestyle. The show consists of setting up and programming a showroom on wheels, pretty repetitive after 2 days.

For the most part its pretty fun being out there, meeting new people, showing off new product, talking shop what have you. But it can get quite melancholic at times. Desolate places tied in with circa 1987 lounges make for some dismal and uncanny evenings.

The occasional Italian dinners make things alright though.

Being home was nice, awesome in fact. It was nothing but quality time being had, one of D's friends had a dinner party which was lovely. Good food, great company and a bit of elbow bending mixed with some people watching made for a very short lived but pleasing visit home. Thanks Caroli!

And we're back
