Bittersweet

I miss my wife, i miss my dogs, i simply miss the being of home. Its week three of four on the east coast leg of "A Brighter World" tour and I'm home for a day. I've been looking forward to this day for a bit, now that its here it feels too good to be true. I've always had a desire to tour, not so much in the way that I'm currently doing so but still a very interesting introduction to that particular lifestyle. The show consists of setting up and programming a showroom on wheels, pretty repetitive after 2 days.

For the most part its pretty fun being out there, meeting new people, showing off new product, talking shop what have you. But it can get quite melancholic at times. Desolate places tied in with circa 1987 lounges make for some dismal and uncanny evenings.

The occasional Italian dinners make things alright though.

Being home was nice, awesome in fact. It was nothing but quality time being had, one of D's friends had a dinner party which was lovely. Good food, great company and a bit of elbow bending mixed with some people watching made for a very short lived but pleasing visit home. Thanks Caroli!

And we're back

Behind door #1

If I relate my life to whats behind the door, its been a lot to say the least. Crazy travel schedules mixed with uncertain ambitions, only a traveling sales manager can comprehend. If you're really curious as to the reality behind this door its actually a new beginning to a very successful and prosperous design company.

I stopped in to see how things were coming along and to wish my friends well in their new space, they of course put me to work. Nothing like a sweaty day stenciling company names on the hot asphalt. I did it with a smile though and retaliated in the form of kerning. That should irritate a select few for a while.

I just returned home from a NY trip. It was an ok trip I suppose, did what I had to do, hung out with some old friends, and went for a lovely boat ride in the Long Island sound.

I grew up in this area and use to go out on the family boat in these same waters. Between the boat ride and hanging with old friends, it was a pleasant trip down memory lane. Oh, and my airline fucked me again.

From 1st class

To no class

In other news. The wife is good and the dogs are splendid. However, I'm afraid I have some bad news. This may or may not effect your daily lives but it will undoubtedly forever change my networking lifestyle. I'm leaving this here blogspot and switching gears to a more technical, more extensible blogging platform. A platform that will not only describe my daily struggles but also offer a portal to my creative side and all things that keep me sane in life. Chin up though, as I will certainly let know where I'm going. After all, you've brought this far.

So consider this my last post as I'm officially...

OK, maybe a few more for good measure.

City of bricks

At least that's what i call it.

I flew to Boston this week for a shoot out. I enjoy shoot outs, they're the perfect opportunity to show who's light is bigger, figuratively speaking. The folks at the Majestic theatre are looking to enter the automated world and their choice of lamps were narrowed down to two manufactures. The demonstration was held in this 100+ year old theatre. Anytime I enter a room like this its absolutely jaw-dropping. For me, its not so much the architecture or the intricacy of the gold trim surrounding the room which believe you me, is quite incredible, but more so the feeling you get when standing in the center of the room knowing that some pretty amazing performances have taken place there.

I finished the shoot out (nailed it) and took in all the "greatest performances" feelings i could for one day. I still had enough time though to wander Bean town for a bit before carrying on with my trip.

I walked down Newbury st. for a while and came upon what i thought was a store for all things sewing but it turned out to be some overpriced designer clothing store. I snapped this photo for Abuela, I love you and I miss you.

I had a drink at a bar where apparently, everybody knew my name.

And I saw what I think might be the coolest logo yet.

Nothing like a long walk back to the car in the pouring rain.

I grabbed some dinner and drove out to R.I. where i finished the rest of my trip. Pretty much a bore and tiresome from there but, i was told that........
